No matter what you lose or how you lose it, life goes on, and you know it has to. I wanted people to see that, then to reach inside themselves and look at whatever feeling lies deep enough that this painting touches it. I also wanted the isolation and vulnerability Bear brings to the piece. Judging by people’s reactions online, I accomplished those things.
