The more I do these Applescapes, the more I love them; and, oh, the models are brilliant! Please meet Ms. Opal Apple, who was kind enough to pose for nearly a week without moving once. Now, that's a good model! Opals are only available for a short time each year, but are worth the wait for their beautiful shapes and lines. Or hills and valleys in this case. They are a deep, rich yellow, and (oh, must I confess it?) a wonderfully complex flavor.
Under good lighting, this Apple put me in mind of that breathless intensity one finds just before a Montana storm where the Great Plains and the Rockies meet. Sometimes, the setting sun shoots in under the hem of black clouds, lighting everything it touches with the glory of God. Nothing less can describe the feeling.
