Apple A Day Series No. 19
12 x 6"
Watercolor with ink on Saunders Waterford 200# Rough
This Apple was a more complex piece, one that required some time. I wanted the power of the ocean against cliffs and the bracing feel of standing out there above the Pacific and its restless shores. Some people worry for the Apple's safety, but it's not afraid. I think, in the long run, I made it more complex than it needed to be, but again, I learned in the process. It was in painting this one that I realized my Apple paintings were becoming more narrative-driven each day.
