A couple of years ago or so, I read about a painter whose still lifes reminded the author of landscapes. The idea intrigued me, and what better way to experiment with it on an Apple? Point of view is only one variable, though. I wanted more challenge than that.
So I pulled out some of The Dreaded Hot Press paper which leaves brushstrokes and unintended lines behind more easily than rough or cold press, and wet two brushes: a 1 1/2" flat and a 1/2" flat for details. For those of you who don't paint, a brush an inch and a half wide is a big brush for a six inch high painting.
I like challenges, though, and this was so much fun! It turned out to be one of my favorites.
