One of the wonderful things about being a woman and an artist today is the wealth of basically unexplored content women can bring to viewers of their art.
“Chrysalis” is the third painting in my series, “Unveiled -- Life and Hope Through a Woman’s Eyes”. It depicts that quiet time when a difficult truth is faced, welcome or not. It is a painful moment, one that has been avoided but can no longer be held off. It is also transcendent -- immaculate, even -- for at last we can let go of a quiet lie and grow wiser, stronger, purer.
If only it didn’t hurt....
