Watercolor on Saunders Waterford paper
Sometimes paintings just seem to paint themselves, like they’ve been waiting for years to leap fully formed to the paper the instant I touch my brush to paint to paper. It’s a magical moment. This was such a painting. I knew the colors without thinking: greens and golds for health and growth, reds and oranges for strength and trust…for courage, too. Purples for spirituality. This is a woman who knows who she is, what she wants. She is vibrant with courage, love and strength.
I share her with you because I didn’t have time with her at home; she sold while still taped to the board. I’m still not quite ready to say goodbye.
